Founded in May 2017 in Ghana, SESNET-Africa is a Not-for-Profit Members Organization working to market
sustainable sanitation facilities (toilets) in Ghana and across Africa. Our foundation members are CleaNext
Limited and WasteCare Associates — both limited liability companies in Ghana with extensive experience in the
sanitation sector.
In Ghana, the organization’s existence is driven by two main objectives:
- Create youth artisanal jobs for rapid scaling up of home-toilet ownership in low-income, peri-urban
and rural communities; and
- Partner public department, agencies, non-governmental and private entities to reduce youth Not in
Education, Employment and Training (NEET).
SESNET-Africa acts as the main operations anchor for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in toilet
improvement and installation programmes by the National Toilet Association members (made up of building
material manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers).
