About SESNET-Africa

Founded in May 2017 in Ghana, SESNET-Africa is a Not-for-Profit Members Organization working to market sustainable sanitation facilities (toilets) in Ghana and across Africa. Our foundation members are CleaNext Limited and WasteCare Associates — both limited liability companies in Ghana with extensive experience in the sanitation sector.

In Ghana, the organization’s existence is driven by two main objectives:

  • Create youth artisanal jobs for rapid scaling up of home-toilet ownership in low-income, peri-urban and rural communities; and

  • Partner public department, agencies, non-governmental and private entities to reduce youth Not in Education, Employment and Training (NEET).

SESNET-Africa acts as the main operations anchor for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in toilet improvement and installation programmes by the National Toilet Association members (made up of building material manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers).

Our Objectives

  • Engage sustainable enterprise-solution providers across Africa
  • Provide a platform for sharing innovative sanitation solutions
  • Provide updates on home latrine access to meet SDGs
  • Serve as an online market hub for toilet industry stakeholders
  • Foster communication and best practices among stakeholders
  • Establish global linkages with similar organizations
  • Offer consultancy and support to members
  • Create jobs for youth in sanitation construction and marketing
